How to find things on the site
We’ve tried to make the website easy and fun to use.
To search for particular item use the ‘Find a product search bar at the top of every page’
Type the name or description of the item you are looking for and the search results will be displayed.
Alternatively, browse through the different rooms and departments. Each department is divided into categories and sub-categories so it’s easy to find exactly what you’re looking for.
If you can’t find a particular product then please email us.
How to order
Find a product you want and click ‘add to shopping basket‘ – it will then be added to your mini shopping basket (you can see this up in the top of the screen).
The ‘mini-basket’ will remain up in the top of the screen: wherever you are in the website so you can see how many items are in your basket as well as the sub-total (so far).
Once you’ve got everything that you want in your basket, click on the word ’Item’ next to ‘Your basket’ to continue.
‘Checkout‘ This is where you pay for your shopping. On the website this involves you giving us your address and credit/debit card details.
How to pay
We accept all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Delta, Maestro and Mastercard, Solo & Visa Electron. Our online payment processing is completely secure and endorsed with Thwarte.
Your card will not be charged until your order is confirmed.
Your payment passes briefly through our own processing system, and is then passed directly on to the supplier, less our closing fee.
VAT
Prices are shown inclusive of UK VAT at 15% where applicable.
Why has my payment been declined?
Your card may be declined for a few different reasons, please see below for an explaination.
- Invalid post code: The post code you entered on the billing address at checkout doesnt match that of the card. Please check the post code is correct or contact your bank and confirm the address details.
- Invalid security code: The 3 digit security code you entered may be incorrect, please check the card and make sure you have entered the right code.
- Invalid house number: Please double check your billing address is correct, alternatively contact your bank and confirm the address details.
- Invalid card number: Please double check your card number is correct, and remove all spaces when submitting.
Do you deliver to locations other than the United Kingdom?
If you wish to order an item for delivery overseas including the Channel Islands, or the Republic of Ireland then please contact us, giving full details of the item(s) you wish to order and where you would like them to be delivered to. We’ll get straight onto the partner concerned to try to organise it for you
Why has my order arrived in more than one package?
At Lifeandhome you are able to buy from a variety of different Sellers, so your items will be delivered direct from each seller in separate packages.
